Thank you, World!

wpid-IMG_143846796128510.jpegI’m back.

I’m really sorry for not posting a while. My countrymen back home were suffering too much because of Super Typhoon Yolanda and I just felt it was not appropriate to post the happy adventures I was having here in Abu Dhabi. I couldn’t be posting the many different places I visit, the food that I eat, and the toys I have, while I know that many Filipino children out there who are hungry, and homeless.

It’s been more than a month now since the typhoon devastated central Philippines, and now the Filipinos are slowly recovering. I’m sure it will take a while before the situation becomes better. My home country still needs a lot of help.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who responded to the call for help – those who did something – big or small, to help in the relief efforts. My admiration goes out to all of you, because of all your selfless acts of generosity.

I am a small boy who has become a witness of how the world responds to a major disaster. Many countries donated, sent their troops, and brought in food, tents, and other disaster supplies. Organizations held fund-raising activities, went out of their way to provide assistance in the relief efforts. There were even people from the other parts of the world who traveled to the Philippines to volunteer. I am touched with all these love showered to my country.

Many of these stories of heroism are compiled in dad’s new blog HEROES OF YOLANDA. Please check it out and be inspired. Just click the link to be directed there.

Sometimes I feel so afraid of growing up – because of the many bad news I hear about the world. But after seeing all these acts of humanity, I know there’s nothing to be afraid of. The world is still full of loving and selfless heroes.

  1. Thanks to you for those news. We really hope that people and animals in Philippines will be safe and recover houses. In those awful moments, we measure how we are lucky not to have earthquakes, tsunamis, tornados…
    God bless you too

    • Yes, we are lucky indeed.
Thank you for stopping by, iceman 🙂
