09 Mar 10 Ma’am Orara

Today, we had lunch with one of dad’s greatest influences – Professor Orara, or simply called “Ma’am O” by dad. Mom and Lolo Ver were with us also. We picked up Ma’am O from the school where she teaches, and we brought her to David’s Tea House in SM Marilao.

Ma’am O was Dad’s English teacher way back in 1992. Since then, Dad had become close to her and had treated each other like mother and son. Dad always tries to make sure that whenever he visits the Philippines for vacation, he gets to invite her to eat out. Today was the first time that they ate out with Mom and me.

This is dad’s way of thanking a person who had contributed a lot in his life. And so I also thank her for making dad a better person.

After visiting Manila Ocean Park, we had lunch, then headed straight to Star City!

Star City is a theme and amusement park located at CCP Complex Manila. There were rides, food and stores. My parents bought me some toys and clothes.

I really enjoyed the day and I hope to come back here when I get older.

07 Mar 10 Manila Ocean Park

Today we visited Manila Ocean Park – the Philippines’ first state-of-the-art oceanarium and open water marine habitat located along Manila Bay at the back of Quirino Grandstand.

It was fascinating to look at the different coral reef inhabitants, collections of colorful marine fish, sting rays and different species of sharks.

The first oceanarium that I visited was the one located at Dubai Mall in Dubai. But Manila Ocean Park was a remarkable encounter of the richness of the Philippines’ underwater world. I can truly say that this is OURS!
