Weekly Photo Challenge: INDULGE

I’m officially joining the bandwagon. I’m joining the WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge starting this week.
This week’s theme is INDULGE. I couldn’t help but think about food when I hear this word. So here goes my post -
One of my parents’ favorite Chinese restaurant in the Philippines is CHOWKING. It has branches around the world, and so they were glad to find one inside Dragon Mart in Dubai.
Wakey, wakey… the food is here!
Pancit Canton, Spring Rolls, Chicharap, Siomai and Rice
Mouth-watering! Delicious! I’d love to come back
Dragon Mart

It’s the year of the Water Dragon!
And because of this, we visited DRAGON MART!
Dragon Mart is a huge shopping complex located in Dubai. The 150000 square meter dragon-shaped structure has 3950 shops engaged in the wholesale and retail trade of a variety of Chinese products.
At 1.2km long, Dragon Mart is the largest Chinese trading hub outside of China. Built like an enormous pink dragon, it includes showrooms, shopping areas, restaurants and warehouses that house no fewer than 4,000 enterprises dealing in Chinese products. Although it’s divided up into various sections such as clothing, hardware and furniture, often these are quite mixed up and you never know when you may stumble across a ridiculously cheap pair of comfy shoes, a slinky silk embroidered gown or an authentic-looking set of pearls. The Dragon fountain by the entrance
Some red Chinese lanterns will welcome you when you enter the building. Notice the huge UAE and China flags.
We came here for cheap toy cars. But we also found these… vintage toy cars!
… Dad said they are NOT for playing! They are intended for display only. I don’t like them then
Checking out CCTVs. Hey, is that us?
A quick stop for Gelato-Divino ice cream.

Around the World in 4.5 Hours

Yesterday, we visited the GLOBAL VILLAGE in Dubai.
Global Village Dubailand is claimed to be the world’s largest tourism, leisure and entertainment project. It is the region’s first cultural, entertainment, family and shopping destination. Every year, it has 6 million visitors over an area of 17,200,000 sq ft (1,600,000 m2).
Global Village started out in the form of a number of kiosks in 1996 located on the Creek Side opposite to Dubai Municipality. It then later shifted to the Oud Metha Area near Wafi City for 5 years.Today, Global Village has 6 million visitors at its current location in DubaiLand. (wikipedia)
At the entrance, with Mom. Can you see me? I’m sitting on the stroller
Global Village has over 26 pavilions each representing different countries. My parents and I went around the village for 4 1/2 hours try to sample each country’s culture. It was like going around the world for 4.5 hours!
**********************************
So are you ready to go around the world with me? Here you go…
Starting off with my current home…
We tried different kinds of honey from Yemen. Eventually, we liked the “mountain flowers” honey and bought a jar so I’ll have natural Yemen honey for my pancakes.

We liked the design of their pavilion.
SYRIA

The carpets in Syria are very nice.
Of course, this trip will not be complete without a visit to my home country, the place where I was born…
THAILAND

And that’s it, guys! Thanks for touring the world with me. I still have some more stories to share with you related to this trip, and I’ll be posting those very soon!
Wishing for peace and happiness around the world!
